LaVision Inc is offering a Tomo-PIV short course in its office in Ypsilanti, MI

The course is taking place from September 12 - 14, 2017

The course will cover the theoretical and practical aspects of Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry. A brief introduction to the key enabling technologies will be provided including lasers, laser optics, CCD, CMOS and sCMOS cameras, seed generation, etc. Various setups are described in detail with relative advantages outlined. The numerical image processing techniques utilized in Tomographic PIV will be presented and explained along with image preprocessing, different flavors of volume reconstruction, volume correlation and vector post processing methods.

The three day course is divided equally between formal presentations and hands-on experiments. The course will be hosted at LaVision Inc., 211 W Michigan Ave, Suite 100, Ypsilanti, MI, USA. All instructors have many years experience in this field and across a wide range of applications from micro-scale liquids to supersonic boundary layers in gas flows.

The class size is limited to 20 participants, and seats are available on a first come, first served basis.
Standard registration should be sent in by August 31, 2017.


Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation to Ypsilanti, MI.
Participants should fly into Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) on Monday September 11.
Once here for the TOMO-PIV course, LaVision Inc. will provide the transportation between our office and the hotel, as well as all your meals.
