LaVision UK is offering a course on Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) with focus on volumetric flow measurements

Tuesday, 17. October 2023

The course will be held in collaboration with the University of Manchester from the 16th until the 18th of January 2024.

Discover the potential of LaVision flow measurement systems

The course is focused on volumetric flow measurements as performed using Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry (Tomo-PIV) and 3D Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) using the state-of-the-art Shake-the-Box (STB) algorithms. The three-day course will foresee an introduction to enabling technologies for PIV, a detailed overview of the DaVis software and dedicated lectures covering all main aspects of the Tomo-PIV/STB measurement workflow. Advanced concepts, such as post-processing tools available in DaVis, including data assimilation and pressure estimation, will also be discussed. Furthermore, invited speakers will present state-of-the-art research using PIV/LPT techniques.

The course will be organized to include lectures on the topics introduced above and hands-on sessions with experienced LaVision engineers that will allow participants to discover the potential of LaVision flow measurement systems and discuss application-specific issues.
