LaVision and TU Delft are offering an Advanced 3D PIV/PTV Course with focus on volumetric flow measurements
Tuesday, 12. May 2026
The course is focused on volumetric flow measurements as performed using 3D Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) using the state-of-the-art Shake-the-Box (STB) algorithms.
The three-day course will include comprehensive lectures covering all main aspects of the STB measurement workflow including details on the extension to Object-Aware Shake-The-Box (OA-STB). Advanced concepts, such as Pressure Estimation, Data Assimilation, Uncertainty Quantification and post-processing tools will also be discussed. Furthermore, invited speakers will present state-of-the-art research using PIV/LPT techniques.
The course will include lectures on the topics introduced above and hands-on sessions with experienced LaVision engineers and TU Delft researchers, that will allow participants to discover the potential of STB and OA-STB flow measurement systems and to conduct experiments in the Open-Jet Facility (OJF) at TU Delft.
Three-Day-Course
The course will take place at the Aerospace Propulsion and Power Laboratory of the TU Delft Faculty of Aerospace Engineering - Kluyverweg 2, 2629 HT Delft, Netherlands.
Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodation to Delft.
